Short guide on how not to be a pretentious ass

“Never use jargon words like reconceptualize, demassification, attitudinally, judgmentally. They are hallmarks of a pretentious ass.”

(The first person to guess who the quote is from without googling gets a dinner from me.)

…you could add about 235 other words there, couldn’t you? Synergy would probably top the list 🙂

Despite having written hundreds of pages of B2B articles and copy, I still fall prey to the temptation to use words that might make you look smart, but also confuse.

Always review your writing and screen out hallmarks of a pretentious ass.

Woolly minded people write woolly memos, woolly letters and woolly speeches.

Good writing is not a natural gift. You have to learn to write well.
